Alt Country Rocker Jason Ringenberg Performs Two Shows In Woodstock, IL.
Alt Country Singer / Songwriter Jason Ringenberg Performs Two Shows In Woodstock This Friday & Saturday!
In case the name Jason Ringenberg doesn't ring a bell for you, this is Jason of "Jason in the Scorchers" fame. And, in case you haven't heard of them... well, they had the reputation of being one of the greatest live bands of all time.
They were a hardcore alt country / cow-punk band that used to play with LA bands like "X," "The Blasters," and even, in the early days, REM. Their first bass player was Jack Emerson, the Nashville music producer who was the other "E" in the E-Squared record label that he formed with Steve Earle.
And, they also had the distinction of being, perhaps, the ONLY group to get banned from the old "Nashville Now" TV show by Ralph Emery.
The last time I saw Jason was in Dallas, TX in 1999 when the Scorchers were touring in support of their greatest hits compilation. He, Warner Hodges and the rest of the Scorchers played their tails off, and then the night ended with Jason dancing on the bar and playing harmonica.
At the very least, it should be interesting to see if that happens this time.
The show is Friday March 4th at 8:30pm and tickets are only 10 bucks each. And, oh yeah, he'll be putting on a kids' show on Saturday. Seriously.
