Cool Online Video of John Prine from the Library of Congress
I know I haven't really been keeping up this blog like I should, but hopefully this post of the beginning of many more to come.
As a lot of you know... I'm a huge John Prine fan and I love to see the guy any chance I get. Well, I just got through watching an hour and half video of Prine from the Library of Congress. It's Prine and the Poet Laureate of the United States, Ted Kooser, just sitting around talking about Prine's songs. The conversation's only interrupted long enough for Prine to play, Kooser to read a poem, or Prine's guitar to fly off the stand (you kinda gotta see it to believe it).
Prine plays... Flag Decal, Hello In There, Mexican House, Sam Stone, and, if I recall correctly, Paradise. Plus, he tells some great stories behind the songs.
Here's the link...

My guitarist, John, sent it to me this afternoon. I think he got it from the best of the best Prine sites, the John Prine Shrine, located at http://www.jpshrine.org.
Check it out, then come back and post your comments here.
A buddy of mine is a huge Prine fan and your post inspired him to give him a chance. I thought the LOC video was great, and I was delighted to find your blog. Hopefully, after I get a chance to listen to some more Prine, I will be able to revisit and learn some more. Keep blogging!
